About Mark Venegas

Mark Venegas was born in Santa Monica, California in 1962. In 1972, his father, a native Costa Rican, retired and moved the family to Costa Rica. Their first visit to Tamarindo was in 1975, during a family camping trip, immediately falling in love with Tamarindo’s beautiful beach.

He grew up visiting and surfing beaches all over Costa Rica and went to high school in San José, then moved to San Diego to study Business Management. After returning to Costa Rica, he decided Tamarindo is the spot and bought property here in 1985; a year later he built his home and business where he has been managing it since. Mark is now married, has a 8-year-old daughter, Sarah, and a 5-year-old boy, Victor.
